📄 Abstract(原文)
Green finance has become an essential mechanism for tackling climate change and advancing sustainable development. It refers to financial investments that support environmentally friendly projects, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation, sustainable agriculture, and climate-resilient infrastructure. In India, efforts to incorporate environmental factors into financial systems have accelerated considerably over the past decade. The importance of green finance has grown significantly as the country faces the dual challenge of sustaining rapid economic growth while addressing environmental concerns, including air pollution, water scarcity, and rising carbon emissions. This paper explores the evolution of green finance in the country, highlighting major instruments like green bonds, relevant policy frameworks, associated challenges, and its contribution to long-term sustainability. The findings suggest that despite notable progress, India still faces considerable shortcomings in areas such as funding, regulation, and execution.
