📄 Abstract(原文)
In this report, we present the development of 100% renewable energy pathways for the Iberian Peninsula, demonstrating both its technical and financial feasibility. The pathway is meticulously designed to be robust, and provides a clear framework for achieving a secure, sustainable energy supply across the Peninsula’s industrial, transport, and residential sectors. By ensuring local energy security, the pathway not only promotes environmental sustainability but also supports future economic growth. The ‘Business as Usual’ scenario modelled the Iberian Peninsula with continuity in respect to current trajectory & policies, with the results showing that this scenario exceeds the carbon budget required by the Paris Agreement. The Energia 4.0 scenario shows that it is possible reach net-zero by 2040 using a more rapid transition to an efficient, intelligent, 100% renewable energy system. While the Energia 4.1 scenario shows that sufficiency measures can reduce emissions even further. With both the 4.0 and 4.1 scenarios demonstrating the Iberian Peninsula can meet a fair allocation carbon budget aligned with the Paris Agreement.
