📄 Abstract(原文)
The climate change adaptation, and innovation adoption is essential to ensure sustainable food availability at the global level. In this context, integrating climate change adaptation technologies, renewable energy consumption, digital connectivity and agricultural value addition into food systems offers a transformative pathway to enhance global food availability. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the role of climate change adoption and other innovations on food availability of global households. This study used the cross-sectional augmented autoregressive distributed lag model to analyze the macro-level data of 61 economies from 2002–2022. The findings revealed that adoption of climate change technologies enhance food availability in both the short and long run. The stronger long run impact of climate change adaptation technologies, digital connectivity, and renewable energy as compared to short run highlights that full benefits of the adoption of these innovations on global food availability materialize gradually. However, agricultural structural transformation negatively affects food production which lower the food availability in the short term, reflecting the slow pace of transformation and productivity penalties from absorbing excessive labor in agriculture. Thus, economies should strengthen investment in digital infrastructure, climate adaptation, and renewable energy to ensure sustainable food availability.
