In the global GX context

This paper provides a framework for agribusiness to adapt to climate regulation under the EU Taxonomy and GHG Protocol, relevant globally as jurisdictions like the ISSB and SEC move toward mandatory climate disclosure. It demonstrates how to operationalize ESG and carbon accounting standards in a sector often exposed to physical climate risks.

📄 Abstract(原文)

The article examines the conceptual and applied foundations for developing an agribusiness climate adaptation strategy in line with European sustainable development standards and climate regulation frameworks. It substantiates that the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, soil degradation, water scarcity, and the transformation of market requirements necessitate a transition of agricultural enterprises toward systematic climate risk management based on international standards. The role of European sustainable development and climate regulation standards in transforming agribusiness models is analyzed, in particular the requirements of the EU Taxonomy for defining environmentally sustainable economic activities, the principles of ESG-oriented corporate governance, ISO standards in environmental and risk management, and the provisions of the GHG Protocol for accounting greenhouse gas emissions and removals in the agricultural sector. It is demonstrated that the integration of these instruments provides a methodological framework for building a long-term climate-resilient development strategy for agricultural enterprises. It is emphasized that the formation of an agribusiness adaptation strategy in accordance with European standards involves a transition to an integrated management model that combines compliance with EU Taxonomy requirements, ESG-oriented corporate governance, ISO- and GHG Protocol-standardized carbon accounting, and long-term climate resilience planning. Such a model creates the preconditions for ensuring competitiveness and investment attractiveness of agribusiness, as well as regulatory compatibility of agricultural enterprises with the European economic area. Further research will focus on deepening the theoretical and methodological foundations for integrating EU Taxonomy requirements, ESG principles, ISO standards, and the GHG Protocol into the strategic management system of agribusiness, developing practical mechanisms for assessing and minimizing climate risks, and providing a comprehensive justification of the effectiveness of adaptation measures in the context of ensuring long-term competitiveness and European integration compatibility of agricultural enterprises.
