This study shows that using one-tenth of the EU's sustainable biomethane combined with carbon capture and storage (CCS) can enable net-zero ammonia production. By capturing and storing CO2 from biomethane, carbon-negative ammonia production becomes feasible. It quantitatively assesses the potential of EU biomethane resources and the role of CCS.
