Annual country-year panel dataset (Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua; 1990–2023) and accompanying R script for the study "Beyond the Environmental Kuznets Curve: A Machine-Learning and Econometric Assessment of Growth–CO2 Decoupling Across Six Central American Economies, 1990–2023." The dataset includes GDP per capita, CO2 emissions per capita (territorial/production basis), energy intensity, and renewable electricity share, sourced from the World Bank World Development Indicators and the Global Carbon Project (via Our World in Data). The R script reproduces the full analysis pipeline: k-means clustering, PELT structural break detection, a panel Environmental Kuznets Curve model with Driscoll-Kraay standard errors, Dumitrescu-Hurlin panel Granger causality tests, Random Forest variable importance with rolling-origin and leave-one-country-out cross-validation, and the Tapio decoupling index.
