This study quantifies how shifting toward plant-based meat alternatives could curb agricultural land expansion and cut agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. It finds meaningful mitigation potential but flags trade-offs in micronutrient supply such as iron and zinc. The work informs food-system decarbonization pathways and their nutritional limits.
