📄 Abstract(原文)
This article examines the historical and contemporary significance of oil production in Alsace, with a particular focus on the Pechelbronn field, widely regarded as one of the birthplaces of the modern petroleum industry. This research asks how oil production developed in Alsace, what remains of this activity today, and what prospects exist in the context of France’s energy transition and the legal phase-out of hydrocarbon extraction by 2040. To address these questions, the article combines historical analysis, documentary research, museum archives, regulatory data, production statistics, and technical case studies of current concessions such as Scheibenhard and Muehlweg. The findings show that Alsace played a pioneering role in global oil history through early drilling, refining, corporate organization, and technological innovation. Today, production is limited but still technically feasible and locally profitable in some fields. However, remaining reserves are fragmented, costly to exploit, and constrained by French legislation. The article concludes that Alsatian oil’s future is limited, but its industrial expertise and subsurface knowledge remain valuable for emerging energy sectors such as geothermal energy, lithium, and natural hydrogen.
