English
This repository provides replication materials for a study on the extensive and intensive margins of global carbon-credit issuance across 223 countries and territories (1996–2024). Using discrete-time hazard, Cox proportional-hazards, and fixed-effects Poisson pseudo-maximum-likelihood models, it examines how carbon-market readiness, mitigation endowment, transition exposure, and climate vulnerability shape credit supply. The package includes the dataset, codebook, Stata and R code, and workflow documentation to support transparent, reproducible research.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
As Article 6 and voluntary carbon markets scale under ISSB/CSRD disclosure pressure, this work clarifies why institutional readiness—not just carbon potential—determines credit supply. It offers a reproducible empirical base for evaluating host-country market entry and transition-finance pipelines globally.
📄 Abstract(原文)
This repository contains the replication materials for the study “Why Carbon Potential Is Not Enough: Institutional Readiness, Market Entry, and the Scaling of Global Carbon-Credit Supply.” The study examines the extensive margin of first recorded carbon-credit issuance and the intensive margin of post-entry project scaling using a global country-year panel covering 223 countries and territories over 1996–2024. The replication package contains the analysis dataset, variable codebook, Stata code for the econometric analysis, R code for publication-quality figures, and documentation describing the data architecture and replication workflow. The empirical analysis uses discrete-time hazard models, Cox proportional-hazards robustness tests, and fixed-effects Poisson pseudo-maximum-likelihood models to examine the roles of carbon-market readiness, mitigation endowment, transition exposure, and physical climate vulnerability. The package is intended to facilitate transparent and reproducible research. Users should consult the README and codebook before running the replication files.
