📄 Abstract(原文)
In this article we highlight the importance of monitoring polluting particles in cities. This is to contribute to achieving sustainability objectives. Air pollution by suspended particles, especially PM2.5 and PM10, is a serious public health problem in urban areas of Mexico, with measurable impacts on respiratory and cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. This article highlights the importance of a comparative analysis of air quality between the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico [ZMVM] and the state of Morelos, emphasizes the role of air quality monitoring networks as environmental management tools, and proposes strategies for energy decarbonization and modal mobilization— including the adoption of electrified trains—to reduce polluting emissions from transportation. It proposes energy and modal decarbonization scenarios and proposes a modal shift towards electrified train infrastructure as a strategic mitigation measure to reduce transport emissions.
