  Shahar infratuzilmasini takomilashtirishda ushbu hududdagi aholi harakatchanligi qonuniyatlarini o'rganish muhim ahamiyat kasb etadi. Mazkur maqolada shahar hududida aholi harakatchanligining asosiy qonuniyatlari nazariy jihatdan tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqot doirasida aholi harakatchanligining bir maqsadli va ko'p maqsadli shakllari, monomodal va multimodal harakat turlari hamda ularning shahar transport tizimiga ta'siri ko'rib chiqiladi. Shuningdek, "Door-to-Door" (D2D) va "First/Last Mile" (FLM) konsepsiyalari aholi harakatchanligini baholashning zamonaviy yondashuvi sifatida yoritiladi. Transport vositalarining umumiy bosib o'tgan masofasi (VKT) ko'rsatkichi orqali harakatchanlikning ekologik va tizimli ta'siri nazariy asosda izohlanadi.
