In the global economys accelerated transition towards sustainable development, green finance has gradually gained increasing attention as a key tool for promoting ecological protection and economic sustainability. Green finance provides solutions for climate change, resource efficiency, and biodiversity protection, while also driving green technology innovation and low-carbon industry development. However, the development of green finance still faces multiple challenges, such as insufficient policy support, imperfect market mechanisms, and a lack of data transparency. Overcoming these challenges requires collaborative efforts from governments, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that green finance can effectively contribute to achieving global sustainable development goals. This paper synthesizes recent research on blockchain integration with green finance, assessing its current status and future trends. The findings indicate that while blockchain has the potential to enhance green finance, its growth encounters substantial challenges.
