This study assesses carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and carbon-credit potential in high-altitude orchard agroforestry systems in the Himalayas. It empirically examines whether agroforestry can jointly deliver climate mitigation and local livelihoods, and points to possible income via carbon markets for smallholders.
