Der Beitrag zeigt anhand der Technologien Carbon Capture and Storage und Carbon Capture and Utilisation, dass im aktuellen Diskurs um Klimaschutzmaßnahmen ein sogenannter Verzögerungsdiskurs vorherrscht, der technologische Neuerungen als mögliche Lösungen der Klimakrise präsentiert, obgleich aber gesellschaftliche und politische Maßnahmen ergriffen werden sollen. Die Technologien bieten somit einen guten Ansatzpunkt zur Förderung der demokratischen Bildung, indem die Lernenden sich Fachwissen über die Technologien aneignen und dann informiert und reflektiert für und gegen den Einsatz von Carbon Capture zum Schutz des Klimas argumentieren.
