English

This report analyzes the positions of 11 German NGOs on CCS from Dec 2022 to Mar 2024. A clear polarization emerges: one alliance (NABU, WWF, Germanwatch) supports CCS for unavoidable industrial emissions subject to strict ecological standards, while another (BUND, Greenpeace, German Environmental Aid) rejects it as an inefficient false solution. At the EU level, there are occasional collaborations and common opposition to CCS in the energy sector.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

CCS is a contested technology globally. This paper provides a detailed mapping of German NGO positions, reflecting broader tensions in climate policy between technology-driven and sufficiency-oriented approaches. It highlights the importance of addressing ecological integrity and the risk of prolonging fossil fuel use.

📄 Abstract(原文)
