English
This review surveys computational modeling of multiphase flows in cryogenic carbon capture (CCC) via CO2 desublimation, covering 1D macroscopic models, Eulerian-Lagrangian/Eulerian-Eulerian CFD, pore-scale lattice Boltzmann, and molecular dynamics across ~9 orders of spatial scale. It assesses phase equilibria, nucleation kinetics, heat/mass transfer, and frost morphology, and identifies key gaps: molecular-to-device bridging, cryogenic thermophysical data scarcity, turbulence-phase-change coupling, and reduced-order models for real-time control.

In the global GX context
CCC is an emerging CCUS pathway relevant to hard-to-abate sectors under global net-zero scenarios. This review maps the modeling landscape and open challenges, informing process design and scale-up for industrial decarbonization, though it does not directly address disclosure frameworks like TCFD/ISSB.

📄 Abstract(原文)
Cryogenic carbon capture (CCC) by CO 2 desublimation offers high-purity separation without chemical solvents, but its industrial deployment requires accurate computational models encompassing a wide range of coupled multiphysics phenomena. This article reviews the state of the art in computational modeling of multiphase flows in CCC, covering four complementary frameworks: 1D macroscopic models, Eulerian–Lagrangian and Eulerian–Eulerian computational fluid dynamics approaches, pore-scale lattice Boltzmann simulations, and molecular dynamics studies of nucleation and crystal growth. Together, these span roughly nine orders of magnitude in spatial scale. The physical foundations of CO 2 desublimation—phase equilibria, nucleation kinetics, heat and mass transfer, and frost morphology—are discussed alongside a critical assessment of each framework. Key open challenges include bridging the molecular-to-device-scale modeling gap, addressing cryogenic thermophysical data deficiencies, resolving turbulence–phase-change coupling, and developing reduced-order models for real-time process control.
