📄 Abstract(原文)

Climate-related financial risk can affect credit performance, collateral values, insurance availability, liquidity, operations, and community economic resilience. This conceptual article examines the strategic role of U.S. credit unions in managing physical and transition risks while supporting sustainable finance. Integrating financial-stability theory, the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, stakeholder theory, and enterprise risk management, the article develops a leadership-driven framework for climate-risk governance. The framework connects risk identification and measurement, strategic integration, governance and accountability, and adaptive resilience with portfolio management, scenario analysis, business continuity, member engagement, and sustainable lending. Particular attention is given to geographic concentration, mortgages, small-business and agricultural credit, insurance-market stress, data limitations, and proportionality for smaller institutions. The article argues that climate-risk management should remain financially grounded, evidence-based, and consistent with credit-union mission and risk appetite. Implications are presented for boards, executives, regulators, and researchers concerned with institutional and community resilience.
