This dataset contains the complete panel data used to evaluate the independent and joint impacts of China’s Low-Carbon City Pilot policy (LCCP) and the Made in China 2025 initiative (MIC2025) on urban green economic efficiency (GEE). The dataset covers 208 prefecture-level cities in China spanning the years 2004 to 2022, yielding a total of 3,952 observations.The key explained variable, Green Economic Efficiency (GEE), is measured by an undesirable-output Super-SBM model. The dataset also includes policy dummies, interaction terms, a comprehensive set of city-level control variables , mediating variables, and alternative environmental indicators for robustness checks. This dataset can be utilized to fully replicate the empirical results presented in the associated paper, including multi-period DID regressions, parallel trend tests, placebo tests, PSM-DID, mechanism analyses, and heterogeneity tests.
