This paper quantifies carbon sequestration rates of blue carbon ecosystems (mangroves, seagrass beds) and identifies gaps in their integration into climate policies. It also analyzes certification bottlenecks in voluntary carbon markets, highlighting challenges for utilizing these ecosystems as natural climate solutions.
