The assessment of the impact of climate finance on food security among the emerging and developing economies of the Global South is critical, given the vulnerability of their agrifood systems. Using balanced panel data over the period of 2010–2022, this paper examines the relationship between climate change mitigation finance and multidimensional food security index of 20 emerging and developing economies of Global South. In the context of ongoing structural transformation, this study evaluates the role of agricultural value added in ensuring food security. The analysis employs an integrated empirical framework combining the static and dynamic panel data models, including System Generalised Method of Moments (GMM) and Difference GMM along with panel quantile regression. The key findings reveal that mitigation finance has a positive effect on food security, particularly among countries located at the lower and median segments of food security distribution. Furthermore, the paper argues that mitigation finance should be supported by financial inclusion and digital connectivity to generate sustained improvements in food security.
