English

This study applies cradle-to-site LCA (A1-A5) to CFA foundation piles, using real-time primary data to assess how material waste drives embodied carbon. Variability in concrete consumption and masonry block losses raise the footprint via surplus virgin material demand. 'Invisible carbon' from wasted material accounts for 27% of foundation emissions and soil transport 45.5%, supporting digital management and circular economy as climate governance tools.

In the global GX context

Provides empirical evidence on upstream Scope 3 material losses and embodied carbon in construction, relevant to ISSB/CSRD Scope 3 disclosure and circular-economy transition finance. The framing of digital site management as climate governance adds a practical angle to global disclosure scholarship.

📄 Abstract(原文)

This paper analyzes the influence of waste generation on embodied carbon emissions, focusing on the execution of continuous flight auger (CFA) piles. The methodology employs a "cradle-to-site" Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) (stages A1-A5), using real-time primary data collected via Melius software in a high-end residential project. Benchmarking calculations and carbon loss analysis were applied against environmental indicators. The results indicate that the variability in concrete consumption for piles and masonry block losses increase the carbon footprint due to the demand for surplus virgin material. It was identified that "Invisible Carbon", emissions from wasted material, accounts for 27% of foundation emissions, while soil transport accounts for 45.5%. The study demonstrates that decarbonization strategies based on operational efficiency and circular economy support digital management as an essential climate governance tool for the current construction sector.
