Докладът анализира енергийната интеграция в Европейския съюз като икономически и институционален механизъм за ускоряване на зеления преход. Целта е да се оцени доколко задълбочаването на вътрешния енергиен пазар, развитието на трансграничната инфраструктура и координацията на регулаторната рамка улесняват включването на възобновяемата енергия в енергийната система на ЕС. Изследването съчетава анализ на научна литература, стратегически и нормативни документи на ЕС и данни на Евростат и Агенция на Европейския съюз за сътрудничество между регулаторите на енергия (ACER) за периода 2004–2024 г. Резултатите показват, че напредъкът на ВЕИ е най-изразен в електроенергийния сектор, докато мрежовите ограничения и недостатъчният трансграничен капацитет продължават да ограничават ефекта на интеграцията.
