English

Using one-second Great Britain frequency data and half-hourly generation/demand data (2020–2026), this study builds and validates a Data-Driven Operational Frequency-Security Envelope (DOFSE) via quantile regression, GAM, XGBoost and SHAP. Over 427,000 quality-controlled five-minute windows quantify frequency risk under high renewable penetration, offering system operators and policymakers evidence on integration limits and opportunities.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

As global power systems integrate variable renewables, data-driven frequency-security assessment supports grid reliability and transition planning. It complements TCFD/ISSB physical-risk disclosure by quantifying operational resilience, though it does not address disclosure frameworks directly.

📄 Abstract(原文)

This repository contains the computational workflow, derived analytical datasets, reproducibility materials, and supporting outputs associated with the study “Challenges and Opportunities for Renewable Energy Integration in Modern Power Systems through Data-Driven Frequency-Security Assessment.” The study develops and validates a Data-Driven Operational Frequency-Security Envelope (DOFSE) using one-second Great Britain system-frequency data and half-hourly generation and demand data from the National Energy System Operator (NESO) for the January–July periods of 2020–2026. The repository includes the analysis pipeline, processed analytical data, statistical and machine-learning outputs, figures, robustness analyses, supporting documentation, and the evidence workbook required to reproduce the reported results. The final analytical dataset contains 427,962 quality-controlled five-minute windows. The workflow includes quantile regression, generalized additive modelling, segmented regression, logistic risk stratification, XGBoost and SHAP convergence analyses, temporal out-of-sample validation, bootstrap uncertainty estimation, and construction of the Operational Frequency-Security Envelope. Version 2.0 updates the terminology, figures, reproducibility documentation, transition-region analysis, and final submission-aligned outputs.
