English

This study analyzes the impact of economic growth, trade, climate finance (PPP investment), and technological innovation on CO2 emissions in Pakistan using ARDL, DOLS, and FMOLS techniques. It validates the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis, finding that eco-friendly technology reduces emissions while PPP investment and trade worsen environmental quality. Policy recommendations align with SDGs 7 and 13.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

日本のGX文脈において

日本では、GX推進における官民連携の効果的な設計に示唆を与える。特に、PPP投資が環境負荷を増大させる可能性に留意し、技術革新を促進する政策との組み合わせが重要であることを示す。

In the global GX context

This paper contributes to global discourse on climate finance and energy transition by providing empirical evidence from a developing country context. It highlights the nuanced role of public-private partnerships, suggesting that such investments must be coupled with green technology innovation to achieve emission reductions, relevant for ISSB-aligned transition planning.

📄 Abstract(原文)

This analysis aims to identify the roles of economic growth, imports, exports, climate financing (public-private partnership investment), and technological change in carbon-based CO 2 emissions. The study used the Environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) premise in the context of Pakistan. This study used the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model (short- and long-run) and the DOLS and FOMLS techniques. The statistical findings concluded that Public private investment (PPP) significantly increases CO 2 emissions. A well-balanced environmental model is used in this study, which includes public-private investment in energy, GDP, technological innovation, imports, and exports as the most significant variables to represent the global agenda of sustainable growth. Eco-friendly technology is significantly reducing CO 2 emissions, whereas import, export, and PPP are significantly deteriorating the quality of the environment. The present study validates an inverted-U-shaped relationship between ecological quality and economic growth, as indicated by the EKC. To achieve ecological and energy sustainability, governments, lawmakers, and regulators are encouraged to implement these outcomes. The study makes recommendations for policy solutions aligned with SDGs 7 and 13 (cheap, clean energy and climate action) to improve environmental sustainability.
