English
This repository provides the data structure, self-generated safeguard ratings, and analysis code for a study testing whether stronger environmental and social safeguards correlate with better market uptake in forest carbon projects. Using Verra forest projects, it examines whether safeguard strength links to transaction-based outcomes—especially credit retirement timing—after controlling for GHG performance and co-benefits. The hypothesis: stronger safeguards attract buyers and speed market absorption.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
Amid ISSB/CSRD scrutiny of carbon credit use and integrity, this study offers empirical evidence on whether safeguards function as a market quality signal in voluntary carbon markets. It informs global debates on credit integrity, buyer preferences, and disclosure of offset quality.

📄 Abstract(原文)
This repository contains the data structure, self-generated safeguard rating, and analysis code used in a study of whether stronger environmental and social safeguards are associated with better market uptake in forest carbon projects. The underlying research examines Verra forest projects and tests whether safeguard strength is linked to transaction-based market outcomes, particularly the timing of credit retirement, after accounting for other project quality signals such as greenhouse gas (GHG) performance and co-benefits. The core hypothesis is that projects with stronger safeguards may be more attractive to buyers and therefore experience faster market absorption.
