📄 Abstract（原文）
Human society is facing numerous environmental problems, including climate change, mainly caused by the burning of fossil fuels in power plants to obtain electrical and thermal energy. On the other hand, electricity consumption is increasing due to population growth, urbanization or economic development. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one of the proposed solutions was the development of renewable energy sources, including oceanic ones. This research aimed to analyze ocean energy, its potential and ways of valorization, its contribution to the global energy system and the challenges to future development. The results show the concerns of many companies and states in identifying the most efficient technological solutions for valorizing ocean energy. It also highlights the growing contribution of the sector to the global energy system, but its share is still very low. Although the great energy potential of the waters of the seas and oceans is recognized, several challenges stand in the way of the large-scale development of these technologies, including environmental and economic challenges.
