English
This data and code release provides the complete calculation chain behind a paper comparing seven post-consumer plastic treatment routes in Japan (mechanical recycling of PET/HDPE/PP, two chemical recycling blocks, incineration with energy recovery, and incineration with CCS) under two substitution boundary conventions on a unified fossil-carbon balance. Using time-resolved CO2 impulse response and Monte Carlo analysis, it evaluates routes by cumulative radiative forcing. Reproducible code and data are provided to inform GX policy decisions.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
Globally, the paper addresses a critical methodological gap in comparing recycling and waste-to-energy with CCS, relevant to circular economy and climate mitigation accounting. The explicit boundary-shift identity and reproducible calculation chain offer a rigorous framework for LCA practitioners and policymakers aligning with ISSB/CSRD disclosure requirements.

📄 Abstract(原文)
Complete machine-readable data and calculation chain behind the manuscript "When substitution boundaries decide: a general criterion for comparing plastic recycling with waste-to-energy carbon capture". Comparative assessments credit plastic recycling with the virgin production it displaces, and how far that credit extends into the displaced material's own end of life is a boundary choice on which assessments in current use differ. Seven treatment routes for one tonne of post-consumer plastic arising in Japan (mechanical recycling of PET, HDPE and PP, two chemical-recycling blocks, incineration with energy recovery, and incineration with carbon capture and storage) are evaluated under both boundary conventions on one explicit fossil-carbon balance, resolved in time with the CO2 impulse response of Joos et al. (2013) and reported as cumulative radiative forcing, and propagated through a shared-draw Monte Carlo analysis. The release contains 34 data files and the complete calculation chain: the result matrices under both boundaries, the sign and rank comparisons, the reference flows, the boundary-shift identity checked against the observed shift for every route, the 360-combination parameter sweep, the grid-factor and capture break-even analyses, and the 20,000-draw matched-composition Monte Carlo evaluated on the same draws under both boundaries. A single entry point, run_all.py, regenerates every number from fixed seeds (Monte Carlo seed 20260813), and verify_p2.py runs 44 engine invariants that assert no result reported in the paper. The code/ and data/ trees are byte-identical to the archive supplied with the manuscript, verified from a fresh clone against the SHA-256 manifest.
