Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool in enhancing resource efficiency and reducing carbon emissions, offering significant potential for fostering sustainable practices across industries. This chapter explores the role of AI in driving sustainability through various applications, including energy optimization, waste reduction, and resource management. Through case studies across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, energy, and electronics, the chapter examines how AI can optimize operations, minimize environmental impact, and contribute to a circular economy. The research identifies critical gaps in existing literature, including the lack of integrated, organizational-level approaches, limited long-term sustainability assessments, and insufficient attention to ethical and social considerations. Future directions for AI in sustainability are proposed.
