English
Using county-level panel data from China (2013-2023), this study employs a DID model to analyze the income effects of the 'County-wide Distributed PV Pilot' policy on rural residents. The policy significantly boosts rural income, primarily through industrial structure optimization and agricultural enhancement. Effects are stronger in central/western regions and areas with lower solar resources, providing county-level evidence for energy transition and rural development synergy under dual carbon goals.

📄 Abstract(原文)
Using county-level panel data from China covering from 2013 to 2023, this study employs a Difference-in-Differences model to empirically analyze the income-generating effects of the “County-wide Distributed Photovoltaic Pilot” policy on rural residents. Results indicate that the policy significantly boosts rural household income. After undergoing a series of robustness tests, the findings remain statistically significant. Mechanism analysis reveals that this policy primarily increases rural incomes through output two pathways: optimizing industrial structure and enhancing agricultural. Heterogeneity analysis further indicates that policy effects are more pronounced in central and western regions and areas with lower solar resource endowments. This study provides county-level empirical evidence for the synergistic advancement of China’s energy transition policies and rural development in the context of the dual carbon goals.
