Surveying 316 managers at Vietnamese seaport firms and applying PLS-SEM, the study finds green financial strategy (GFS) links green dynamic capability and stakeholder pressure to sustainable performance via two mechanisms: green innovation and sustainability disclosure. Innovation drives environmental and economic performance more strongly, while disclosure relates more to social and economic performance. Green finance is reframed as an organizational transition architecture, not merely a funding instrument.

In the global GX context
As ports face growing pressure under TCFD/ISSB and CSRD-aligned disclosure and transition-finance expectations, this paper offers a mechanism-level account of how green capital translates into innovation and credible disclosure—useful for global port and shipping decarbonization scholarship.

📄 Abstract(原文)
Sustainable port transitions depend not only on access to green capital but also on how firms translate sustainability pressures and internal capabilities into investment priorities, operational change, and credible accountability. This study develops a resource-conversion framework in which green financial strategy (GFS) links green dynamic capability and stakeholder pressure to sustainable performance through two distinct mechanisms: green innovation and sustainability disclosure. Survey evidence was collected from 316 senior and middle managers representing commercially operating Vietnamese seaport firms and analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results show that green dynamic capability and stakeholder pressure are positively associated with GFS, which in turn is positively associated with green innovation, sustainability disclosure, and sustainable performance. Green innovation constitutes the stronger substantive pathway, particularly for environmental and economic performance, whereas sustainability disclosure is more closely associated with social and economic performance. By distinguishing operational transformation from accountability-oriented value creation, the study reframes green finance as an organizational transition architecture rather than merely a funding instrument and clarifies how financing, innovation, and disclosure perform complementary functions in sustainable port transformation.
