English
Using fsQCA grounded in the socio-technical regime layer, this study examines how technological innovation, policy support, energy consumption behavior, and market environment jointly shape energy transition performance. It identifies two improvement paths—technology-driven and innovation-behavior-driven—and shows that strategies for moving from sub-performance optima to overall performance differ. Regions should tailor transition plans to local contexts.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
日本のGX文脈において
日本ではGX推進法・第7次エネルギー基本計画や地域脱炭素の文脈と接続しうるが、開示・SSBJ・投資家対応への直接的示唆は乏しい。地域別の転換経路設計を考える参考になる。
In the global GX context
While not a disclosure paper, it contributes to the global energy-transition literature by showing configurational, context-dependent pathways to transition performance—useful for policy design under TCFD/transition-plan expectations, though it does not engage ISSB/CSRD reporting frameworks directly.

📄 Abstract(原文)
The performance of energy transition serves as a critical indicator for assessing the quality of transitions within energy systems. A high-quality energy transition is essential for the effective implementation of energy transition strategies and the advancement of sustainable development. Based on the socio-technical regime layer of the Multi-Level Perspective framework, this paper identifies the key factors that influence the energy transition performance. It systematically examines the combined impact of technological innovation, policy support, energy consumption behavior, and market environment on energy transition performance using Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis. The study reveals that there are two types of improvement paths, including the “technological innovation-driven” path and the “innovation and behavior-driven” path. By further comparing the improvement configuration of comprehensive performance and sub-performance, it is revealed that there are differences in the strategy for expanding from the local optimum of different transition sub-performance to the overall optimum of transition performance. All regions should consider their unique transformation backgrounds, identify the most suitable improvement path of transition performance, and subsequently develop comprehensive energy transformation plans.
