📄 Abstract(原文)

The global energy transition and the urgency of sustainable solutions have placed renewable fuels at the center of current strategic discussions. This study therefore examines the potential of ethanol as a sovereign and environmentally sustainable alternative for the Brazilian transportation energy matrix, highlighting its advantages over non-renewable fossil fuels. The research analyzes the dynamics of the carbon-neutral cycle and demonstrates how ethanol production contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through the absorption of CO₂ during the crop growth cycle. From an engineering and technical efficiency perspective, a comparative analysis is conducted on the performance and fuel consumption of internal combustion engines operating on ethanol and gasoline. Furthermore, the study explores one of the most promising and innovative frontiers in the sector: the conversion of diesel engines to ethanol use. This rapidly expanding market is already becoming a practical reality through functional prototypes developed by major global heavy-engineering corporations, such as John Deere and CASE IH. Based on analytical and documentary research, the findings indicate that ethanol remains an underutilized strategic asset in Brazil. The development and widespread adoption of thermal conversion and efficiency-enhancing technologies not only foster industrial innovation and agribusiness development but also represent a viable pathway for aligning economic feasibility with environmental sustainability.
