English

This linear programming model integrates carbon, circularity, and supply risk in materials sourcing. It allocates a purchaser's requirement across supply routes, minimizing embodied carbon subject to caps on single-country exposure, recycled content floors, and capacity limits. It derives shadow prices and feasibility limits, demonstrated on lithium, neodymium, and NMC811 cases.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

This model addresses the global challenge of balancing decarbonization with supply chain security, particularly for critical minerals. It provides a transparent, decision-level framework that aligns with TCFD/ISSB expectations for climate-related risk assessment and supports transition finance by quantifying trade-offs between carbon and resilience.

📄 Abstract(原文)

Linear programming model, parameter set and outputs for a tiered, decision-level treatment of carbon, circularity and criticality in materials sourcing. The model allocates a purchaser's requirement for one material across available supply routes, minimising embodied carbon subject to a cap on single-country exposure, a floor on recycled content, and route capacity limits. Re-solving over a sequence of caps or floors traces the attainable frontier and returns the shadow price of each binding constraint, the marginal carbon conceded per unit of security or of recycled content, together with the feasibility limits beyond which no compliant sourcing mix exists. Three cases are included: battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate, neodymium oxide for permanent magnets, and NMC811 cathode active material. Carbon intensities are taken, for each case, from a single study reporting all routes on a common boundary and allocation convention, and every parameter carries a provenance flag distinguishing evidenced values, values derived by a stated operation, and assumptions. The deposit contains the model, the parameter file, the frontier and sensitivity outputs, and documentation of sources and scope conditions. The model prints eight verification checks, computed independently of the solver, before writing any output.
