English

A preregistered meta-analysis and meta-regression of reported GHG emission intensities from urban and peri-urban crop systems. It treats dispersion among published carbon footprint estimates as the object of analysis, quantifying how much divergence stems from methodological choices (functional unit, system boundary, boundary-component inclusion) versus system attributes like cultivation system, supplementary lighting, and climate zone. Livestock and aquaculture are excluded.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

As urban agriculture gains attention in climate mitigation and food-system decarbonization, this meta-regression highlights that reported carbon footprints are highly sensitive to methodological choices. It offers global disclosure scholarship a cautionary framework for comparability of agricultural GHG accounting, relevant to ISSB/CSRD scope and boundary debates.

📄 Abstract(原文)

A preregistered meta-analysis and meta-regression of reported greenhouse gas emission intensities from urban and peri-urban crop-producing systems. The review treats the dispersion among published carbon footprint estimates as the object of analysis rather than as a caveat. It quantifies how much of that dispersion is attributable to methodological choices — functional-unit metric, system boundary, and boundary-component inclusion — relative to system attributes such as cultivation system, supplementary lighting, and climate zone. Livestock, poultry and aquaculture systems are outside scope.
