📄 Abstract(原文)

This study explores the potential of green bonds as a sustainable finance instrument in Nepal—a country rich in natural resources but limited in financial capacity to meet its climate and development goals. Through a qualitative approach involving literature review, policy analysis, and semi-structured interviews with stakeholders from regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and development agencies, the research assesses Nepal’s regulatory and institutional landscape. Key gaps are identified in market forces, equilibrium, and capacity. While progress has been made—such as the development of a Green Taxonomy and ESG frameworks—significant reforms and capacity-building are required to establish a functional green bond market. The study concludes that green bonds represent a viable tool for mobilizing climate finance and attracting public and private investment. The findings offer strategic insights for policymakers and financial actors to support Nepal’s transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy.
