English
Replication dataset and Python code for a study comparing three carbon-responsibility rules (direct, domestic supply-chain, and imports-inclusive total-requirements) normalized to the same national carbon quantity across Korea, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Canada (2005-2022). It measures how each rule redistributes responsibility across sectors and whether resulting voluntary carbon-market costs shift sectoral investment shares, using Leontief input-output analysis and investment-response regressions.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
Directly informs the global debate on Scope 3 attribution and whether supply-chain carbon responsibility rules actually reallocate capital, relevant to ISSB/CSRD Scope 3 disclosure and voluntary carbon market integrity discussions.

📄 Abstract(原文)
This dataset contains the integrated input workbook and Python code that reproduce every table and figure of the article "Supply-Chain Carbon Responsibility in Voluntary Carbon Markets: Input-Output Incidence and the Capital-Reallocation Channel in Five Economies" (submitted to the Journal of Industrial Ecology). The study compares three carbon-responsibility rules, normalized to the same national carbon quantity, for Korea, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Canada over 2005-2022: Direct (own emissions), Network (domestic supply-chain responsibility) and Total (imports-inclusive total-requirements responsibility). It measures how much each rule redistributes national responsibility across sectors, and whether the resulting voluntary carbon-market costs change sectoral investment shares. Files - analysis_data.xlsx: aggregated sector-level statistics. It contains OECD harmonized national input-output tables for 1995-2022 (domestic and total intermediate matrices, value-added components and gross output); industry greenhouse-gas emissions, productive capital, value added and gross fixed capital formation for 30 sectors (29 for Canada); Ecosystem Marketplace voluntary carbon-market prices and volumes; Federal Reserve G.5A exchange rates (FRED); voluntary-registry retirements from the Berkeley Voluntary Registry Offsets Database v2026-06; buyer-share parameters; and a source manifest. - analysis_code.py: Python code. The vcm module computes Leontief-based responsibility, coverage calibration, the investment-response regressions (fixed-effect, initial-share-controlled and half-panel-jackknife estimates), counterfactual reallocation, price and elasticity thresholds, annual input-output analysis, robustness checks and figures. Running the code reproduces the result workbook exactly; random draws use a fixed seed. Requirements: Python 3.12 with pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, matplotlib and openpyxl. All data are aggregated public statistics; no personal or confidential data are included. Source series remain subject to the original providers' terms of use (OECD, Bank of Korea, Ecosystem Marketplace, Federal Reserve/FRED, Berkeley Carbon Trading Project).
