📄 Abstract(原文)

Purpose This study aims to reveal the critical role of Islamic ethics as the foundation of institutional quality to push Islamic finance to accelerate energy transition in Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries in line with the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs 7 and 13). Design/methodology/approach This study uses a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to identify three keywords that represent Islamic finance and institutional quality, grounded in Islamic ethics and energy transitions. A total of 224 documents, published between 2010 and 2025, were retrieved from the Scopus database. Findings Research on Islamic finance and the institutional quality based on Islamic ethics in relation to energy transition has grown rapidly (20.79%), particularly by 2024. Research clustering focused on the governance, performance and diversity of Islamic financial instruments. However, the role of institutional quality as a bridge for implementing Islamic ethics and Islamic finance in renewable energy projects in OIC countries remains limited. Practical implications Strengthening synergy between the government and the Islamic finance sector to create a conducive regulatory framework, green taxonomy, transparency and develop innovative financial instruments that are in line with Islamic principles to support the financing of renewable energy projects. Originality/value This study fills a gap in the literature by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to synthesize the evolution of research on Islamic ethics as a foundation for institutional quality and by presenting a conceptual model to strengthen the potential of Islamic finance to accelerate energy transition.
