English

This dataset supports a techno-economic analysis of bio-based energy vector production (hydrogen, ammonia, methanol) in Sub-Saharan Africa (Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa) for export to European demand centers. It compiles MILP model inputs, CAPEX/OPEX, transport costs, demand scenarios, and optimization results across Appendices A–C to ensure reproducibility and transparency.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

This work informs global transition-finance and energy-trade debates by quantifying the cost structure of exporting African bio-based hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol to European demand centers. It offers empirical grounding for cross-border low-carbon fuel supply chains relevant to EU decarbonization targets and emerging-market transition finance.

📄 Abstract(原文)

This dataset supports the research presented in journal paper titled  "Comprehensive Techno-Economic Analysis of Different Production Technologies of Multiple Energy Vectors: A Sub-Saharan Outlook." It includes all input parameters, results and additional methodological details used in the techno-economic model, which evaluates bio-based energy vector production from Sub-Saharan Africa (Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa) for export to European demand centers. The dataset is organised into two appendices: Appendix A: Supplementary Tables – Model Parameters Table A1.  Selling prices of products and assumed plant lifespan Table A2.  Feedstock-to-product conversion factors across technologies Table A3.  Production costs per product-technology pair Table A4.  Operational expenditure (OPEX) per ton Table A5.  Capital expenditure (CAPEX) per ton of installed capacity Table A6.  Disaggregated transport costs (road and sea) Table A7–A9.  Leading import markets and top suppliers for hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol Table A10.  Bio-based energy product demand and EU demand centers Table A11. Supplier share factors used in supply allocation Table A12 . Nigeria processing facilities to seaports distances Table A13 . Kenya processing facilities to seaports distances Table A14 . South Africa processing facilities to seaports distances Appendix B: Extended Methodological Notes B.1.  Demand scenario calculations B.2.  Solver environment and optimisation settings B.3.  Transport cost estimation for Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa B.4. General OPEX as a percentage of CAPEX across sectors Appendix C: Splementary Tables - Model Results  C 1. Amount of Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methanol Exported from Nigeria to EU Demand Centres  C 2. Amount of Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methanol Exported from Kenya to EU Demand Centres C 3. Amount of Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methanol Exported from Nigeria to EU Demand Centres C 4. Country-Wide Summary of Production and Economic Performance These tables and notes form the basis for the mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model and support reproducibility and transparency. Updates:  Appendices A, C and supplementary methods have been updated.  Also, Tables A1, A4 and S4 have been added
