Code and data extracts that reproduce all tables and figures of the article. Data: World Bank Carbon Pricing Dashboard (extract of August 2025), World Development Indicators and Worldwide Governance Indicators. The code attributes the EU ETS (recorded in the dashboard for 'EU27+') to member states and runs the Callaway-Sant'Anna group-time estimator, randomisation inference, a wild cluster bootstrap, placebo tests, heterogeneity bootstraps and a Monte Carlo study of EU ETS misattribution.
