This work reviews the development of low-carbon coatings and construction materials alongside intelligent construction protection technology, motivated by accelerating urbanization and its resource, ecological, and GHG impacts. It outlines material-level pathways for decarbonizing the built environment, though quantitative reduction figures and assessment methods are only partially evident from the abstract.
