📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
Globally, this paper aligns with the adaptation pillar of the Paris Agreement and the Global Goal on Adaptation. It synthesizes diverse adaptation strategies, which can inform national adaptation plans (NAPs) and disclosure frameworks like TCFD that increasingly consider physical climate risks. However, it lacks empirical depth and novelty.

📄 Abstract(原文)
Climate change has become one of the most pressing global challenges of the twenty-first century, affecting ecosystems, economies, and societies across the world. Rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, increasing frequency of extreme weather events, sea-level rise, biodiversity loss, and declining agricultural productivity have intensified the vulnerability of both developed and developing nations. While mitigation focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, climate change adaptation emphasizes strengthening the capacity of human and natural systems to adjust to existing and anticipated climate impacts. Adaptation has emerged as a critical component of sustainable development because even with ambitious mitigation efforts, many climate impacts are now unavoidable. This paper examines the concept, significance, and strategies of climate change adaptation through an interdisciplinary perspective. It reviews the scientific understanding of adaptation, explores major climate risks affecting agriculture, water resources, health, infrastructure, biodiversity, and livelihoods, and discusses policy interventions and community-based approaches that enhance resilience. The study further highlights the importance of ecosystem-based adaptation, technological innovations, indigenous knowledge systems, climate-smart agriculture, and integrated disaster risk reduction. Drawing upon global experiences, the paper analyzes successful adaptation initiatives implemented in different regions and emphasizes the necessity of collaborative governance involving governments, scientific institutions, local communities, and international organizations. The findings suggest that effective adaptation requires long-term planning, adequate financing, inclusive decision-making, technological advancement, and continuous monitoring. Strengthening adaptive capacity will not only reduce climate-related risks but also contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enhancing environmental sustainability, and ensuring socio-economic resilience. The paper concludes that adaptation should no longer be viewed as a supplementary response but as a central pillar of climate-resilient development planning worldwide.
