Chapter 13 is written by Kaj Hobér and is titled ‘Trends in Energy Disputes’. In this chapter, the author shares input from his vast experiences with energy transition disputes as counsel and arbitrator over the last couple of decades. He first gives a brief overview and some general observations of certain distinctive features of energy disputes, before analyzing emerging and recent trends in four sub-headings: (i) climate change and energy transition, (ii) access to natural resources, (iii) effects of sanctions, and (iv) increased level of sophistication of arbitrators (primarily with respect to quantum).
