📄 Abstract（原文）

This dataset accompanies the article “From ESG Compliance to European Integration: The Role of Sustainability Reporting in Ukraine’s EU Accession Process”. It contains the Ukrainian Corporate ESRS Alignment and Readiness Index (U-ESRS-ARI) for 24 major Ukrainian companies from six sectors for the financial years 2024 and 2025 (48 company-year observations). Each observation is scored on 37 indicators (0–3 scale) grouped into four dimensions reflecting the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS): Structure and General Disclosures, Environmental, Social and Governance. The dataset includes indicator-level scores, the overall index and subindices, an evidence log linking each of the 1,776 coding decisions to the source document, page and text excerpt, the list of source documents with URLs, the codebook, firm characteristics (ownership, type of control, EU listing, EBRD E&S risk category) and the Python scripts used for text extraction, OCR, rule-based coding and statistical analysis. Coding was computer-assisted and rule-based; the scripts were written and run with the assistance of a generative AI tool (Claude, Anthropic) according to the authors’ specification. The index measures publicly verifiable alignment with ESRS-related reporting practices, not legal compliance with the CSRD.
