📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

Maritime shipping is a hard-to-abate sector central to global net-zero pathways and IMO decarbonization targets; open, reproducible energy-system modeling of fuel and infrastructure transitions supports transition-finance and policy analysis under ISSB/TCFD-aligned sector disclosure.

👥 読者別の含意

📄 Abstract(原文)

Overview This repository contains the code, input data and selected results supporting the manuscript “Navigating maritime transition pathways and energy infrastructure towards net zero”, currently submitted for review. It includes the applied energy system model ( Balmorel.zip ), the underlying input data ( data.zip ), and the results generated for the core maritime transition scenarios reported in the manuscript. The model builds on the Balmorel framework. The model code and data repositories are also available at: Model code: https://github.com/balmorelcommunity/Balmorel/releases/tag/navigating_maritime_transitions_paper-v2.0 Input data: https://github.com/balmorelcommunity/Balmorel_data/releases/tag/navigating_maritime_transitions_data-v2.0 The model is implemented in GAMS and requires a GAMS licence to run. At full resolution, the model was solved on an HPC system using 28 cores (8 GB RAM per core), with a typical run taking approximately 24 hours. Running the base model Unzip Balmorel.zip . Unzip data.zip and place the data folder inside Balmorel/base/ . Run the model by executing Balmorel/base/model/Balmorel.gms . Running the transition scenarios Unzip Scenarios.zip . Place the six scenario folders (e.g. 1-FEU-Fuel ) inside Balmorel/ . Run each scenario by executing the relevant .gms file (e.g. Balmorel/1-FEU-Fuel/model/Balmorel.gms ). Any files not explicitly defined within a scenario’s data or model folders are inherited from the corresponding base folder files. Test runs Each scenario folder includes reduced-resolution C.inc , S.inc and T.inc files that run in a few minutes and are sufficient for verifying the model setup. To reproduce the full study results, replace these files with the full-resolution equivalents from Balmorel/base/data/ . Model results Base model results are stored in Balmorel/base/model/MainResults.gdx and Balmorel/base/model/Optiflow_MainResults.gdx . Scenario results follow the same structure (e.g. Balmorel/1-FEU-Fuel/model/MainResults.gdx ). MainResults.gdx contains the Balmorel energy system results; Optiflow_MainResults.gdx contains fuel production, carbon dioxide removal and transport results from the OptiFlow model. Output files are post-processed and visualised in Python.
