📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
日本のGX文脈において
日本でもサーキュラーエコノミー推進の動きがあるが、GXとの直接的連携は限定的。本論文はAI活用による循環型ビジネスの効率化を論じており、日本企業のDX/GX統合戦略に示唆を与える。
In the global GX context
While the circular economy is gaining traction globally, this paper connects it with AI-driven digital practices, which is relevant for the EU's Circular Economy Action Plan and corporate sustainability strategies. It provides a framework for operationalizing circular hubs that could inform ISSB and transition finance discussions.

📄 Abstract(原文)
The emerging concept of Hubs for Circularity (H4Cs) presents an opportunity to create collaborative, self‐sustaining regional industrial ecosystems that drive circular economy transitions at scale. However, the operationalisation of H4Cs faces financial, organisational and data‐driven challenges. To inform the development of H4Cs, this study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) of circular business models (CBMs) as implemented in industrial symbiosis (IS) networks, eco‐industrial parks (EIPs) and closed‐loop supply chains—contexts where CBMs have been actively studied and deployed. We synthesise insights on value creation strategies, stakeholder roles, digital technologies and financial mechanisms in these existing settings. Particular focus is given to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalisation in supporting operational efficiency, risk reduction and financial decision‐making. Findings identify a set of enabling conditions and technological levers that can guide the financial and business model design of H4Cs. This study also proposes a value creation framework and a four‐phase transition pathway that support future implementation of H4Cs through informed application of AI‐enhanced circular strategies.
