An open methodology for valuing climate outcomes of smallholder-led agroecological and climate-smart agriculture programmes. It separates outcomes into three independent tracks—Mitigation (carbon value), Adaptation (farm margin expansion) and Resilience (probability-weighted income protection)—to prevent triple-win claims and double counting. A five-step protocol classifies interventions by climate mechanism, with valuation formulas, a data hierarchy, confidence ratings and a worked example from Jharkhand, India.

日本のGX文脈において
日本のGX文脈では直接の接続は薄いが、Scope 3上流の農業サプライチェーン排出や自然関連資本の評価手法として、食品・商社のサステナビリティ開示に示唆を与える。
In the global GX context
Adds to global disclosure scholarship by offering a structured way to separate mitigation, adaptation and resilience in agricultural value chains—relevant to CSRD/ISSB nature and climate reporting where double counting and unverifiable triple-win claims are persistent problems.

📄 Abstract(原文)
The Climate Value Bifurcation (CVB) Model is an open methodology for valuing the climate outcomes of agroecological and climate-smart agriculture programmes led by smallholder farmers. Such programmes produce mitigation, adaptation and resilience outcomes at the same time, and reporting them together invites "triple-win" claims, inconsistent classification and double counting. The CVB Model separates these outcomes into three independent tracks: Mitigation (carbon value), Adaptation (farm margin expansion) and Resilience (probability-weighted income protected against defined climate shocks). A five-step protocol assigns each intervention a primary track based on its climate mechanism, not its financial magnitude, anchored where relevant to IPCC and Verra pathways. The document sets out valuation formulas for each track, a three-tier data hierarchy with status codes, a structured literature review method, emission factor and carbon price conventions, a cash-flow separability test that governs when values may be aggregated, confidence ratings, sensitivity ranges and reporting conventions. An Engagement Localisation Annex adapts the method to any Indian landscape, with a worked example from Patratu Block, Jharkhand. Outputs are pre-feasibility estimates, not verified carbon credits. Field validation sharpens them at diligence.
