📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

Globally, AI is increasingly integrated into climate governance, from emissions tracking to model-based policy. This chapter provides a balanced overview of opportunities and challenges, relevant to international frameworks like the Global Stocktake and discussions on AI ethics in climate action.

👥 読者別の含意

🔬研究者:Researchers can use this as a concise overview of AI applications in climate governance and associated ethical issues.

🏢実務担当者:Practitioners exploring AI tools for emissions tracking or energy optimization can find a starting point for use cases and risk awareness.

🏛政策担当者:Policymakers should note the dual potential of AI to enhance climate action and the need for governance to mitigate its own environmental and ethical footprint.

📄 Abstract(原文)

Climate change has become the prominent issue of the 21st century and requires a new approach to address a problem that is not traditional but involves innovative and technology-based approaches. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enable environmental governance by providing transformative powers in terms of data analysis, better climate modeling, and evidence-based policymaking. It can be used in monitoring deforestation, tracking greenhouse gases, optimization of renewable energy, precise farming, and monitoring extreme weather directly improving the strategies of mitigation, adaptation, and climate resilience. Nonetheless, the quick development of AI provokes the issues associated with energy usage, discrimination, openness, and responsibility. This chapter suggests that a responsibility-managed, sustainability-driven AI can become the center of making productive environmental policy and develop global climate-action priorities.
