English
A controlled simulation comparing monolithic vs. microservices architectures for climate financial risk modeling using a Merton-style credit model. At validation scale (1,000 exposures) microservices degraded performance 35% from orchestration overhead, but complexity-theoretic extrapolation to 50,000 exposures projected a 40% gain, revealing a scale threshold. Speedups varied by pipeline stage (62% spatial interpolation, 35% Monte Carlo), and dynamic allocation cut peak memory 25%.

In the global GX context
As NGFS-aligned climate risk disclosure becomes mandatory under ISSB/TCFD-adjacent regimes, this paper addresses the under-discussed computational infrastructure layer that determines whether banks can run scenario analysis at portfolio scale—relevant to disclosure-operability debates globally.

📄 Abstract(原文)
This simulation study investigates whether decomposing monolithic risk engines into containerized microservices alleviates processing constraints for climate financial risk modeling without proportional hardware investments. Due to computational resource constraints, empirical validation was conducted at 1,000 exposures (validation scale), while production-scale behavior (50,000 exposures) was derived through complexity-theoretic extrapolation validated by queuing theory models. Financial institutions face escalating computational barriers in meeting NGFS climate risk disclosure requirements. While deep learning has enhanced prediction accuracy, the underlying computational infrastructure for batch-oriented risk modeling remains underexplored. We conducted a controlled comparative experiment using a Merton-style credit risk model. Our validation-scale experiments revealed an unexpected 35% performance degradation in microservices due to container orchestration overhead. However, theoretical extrapolation to production-scale workloads projected a 40% improvement, revealing a critical “scale threshold.” Efficiency gains exhibited significant heterogeneity across pipeline stages: spatial interpolation achieved 62% speedup via embarrassingly parallel execution, while Monte Carlo simulation improved 35%, constrained by Amdahl’s law. Dynamic resource allocation reduced peak memory utilization by 25%. These findings suggest that microservices architectures with predictive autoscaling capabilities offer viable pathways for institutions facing NGFS mandates, provided migration strategies account for scale thresholds and target data-parallel pipeline stages specifically.
