English

This paper presents research from the Austrian Institute of Technology on developing integrated climate mitigation pathways and a comprehensive communication toolset. As part of the Horizon Europe KNOWING project, it focuses on three climate impact contexts: heat and health, flooding and infrastructure, and soil fertility and agriculture. By combining modelling and communication strategies, it aims to support regions in achieving climate neutrality goals while addressing social resistance and financing constraints.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

This paper contributes to the global discourse on integrated climate mitigation by providing a framework that combines quantitative modelling with stakeholder communication. It addresses the need for actionable pathways that account for social acceptance and financing, aligning with the IPCC's emphasis on integrated approaches and the EU's climate neutrality goals.

📄 Abstract(原文)

Combining modelling and communication strategies for integrated climate mitigation Marianne Bügelmayer-Blaschek and Alexandra Millonig explore how to combine modelling and communication strategies for a sustainable future. Regions around the world are challenged in reaching climate-neutrality goals and implementing much-needed adaptation measures, while facing financing constraints and social resistance. To support and facilitate the transition towards a sustainable future, a comprehensive communication toolset and integrated climate mitigation pathways were developed for three different climate impact contexts within the Horizon Europe project KNOWING (heat and health, flooding and infrastructure, soil fertility and agriculture).
