In the global GX context
Globally, food loss and waste contributes ~8-10% of GHG emissions. This paper frames supply chain innovations as mitigation levers, though it does not explicitly quantify climate impact. Useful for integrating circular economy strategies into corporate sustainability.

📄 Abstract(原文)
Food waste and loss (FWL) remains a critical challenge across food supply chains (SCs) globally, with approximately one‐third of all food produced for human consumption discarded or lost each year. This study systematically reviews how supply chain innovation (SCI) can mitigate FWL. Building on the theory–method–context (TMC) framework, the review synthesises 173 studies. Then, thematic synthesis reveals four major innovation domains: (1) digital innovations, enabling traceability, real‐time monitoring and predictive analytics; (2) design innovations, advancing circular, local and regenerative supply networks; (3) valorisation innovations, transforming waste into bio‐based value streams; and (4) measurement innovations, standardising data‐driven metrics for waste quantification. By synthesising these domains, the study develops the SCI4FWL framework that maps SC innovations to manage, reduce, valorise and measure FWL. Accordingly, the study outlines a future research agenda focused on scaling pilot and digital innovations, advancing emerging supply chain innovation models and addressing critical gaps in the literature. The study concludes with theoretical, managerial and policy implications.
